SkillsUSA’s director of national competitions has designated the Facilithon a national technical demonstration event to be run at the national leadership and skills conference in Atlanta, GA in June 2022.

The technical demonstration status allows SkillsUSA leaders from around the country see and see the Facilithon in action to better assess whether their state can use the competition to their student’s benefit.

Team co-director Jim ZIrbel said “This program serves as a solution for industry, SkillsUSA and our planet. We’re thrilled to be elevating nationally with this previously state-only program. This program serves industry with raw talent ready for their next challenge, SkillsUSA with a universal avenue that up to 1 in 4 of their students are a great fit for and our planet with tech-native, green-leaning new FM’s that will reduce the built environment’s carbon footprint, currently 40% of world energy usage , of which 30% is wasted.”

Students for states that run the Facilithon are eligible to participate at the national contest. Further details can be found on the www.FMpipeline.org/students website.
