The high school and post-secondary-level Facilithon program released its growth report this week, sharing that the program has grown to

  • 15 states
  • 291 competitors
  • awarded 31 scholarships and cash awards
  • posted 17 national finalists, to compete  late this June at the SkillsUSA national leadership and skills conference at Georgia World Congress center and State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Sharon Harrington, FM Pipeline Team’s national administrator, said that more volunteers would be needed this year, responding to a volunteer query.  National chairperson Jim Zirbel confirmed that need, because of the growing  contestant numbers and the Facilithon’s placement next to the SkillsUSA Activity Zone, central to the 18,000 students, advisors and industry attendees planning to attend the conference.

“The Facilithon’s unique trajectory through the SkillsUSA ecosystem remains soemthing to behold and represents an real solution for nearly 30% of SkillsUSA leadership competitors who need variety in their work diet.”, Zirbel shared, in light of the new figures being released.
